REIC Pursuit of Excellence Awards – Accepting Nominations

It’s that time of year again. The Real Estate Institute of Canada’s (REIC) Pursuit of Excellence Awards program is accepting nominations!

The REIC Pursuit of Excellence Awards recognize outstanding individuals, teams, and organizations for their commitment to excellence. Throughout the year, they have proved to be dedicated, professional, and going above and beyond. If this sounds like you or someone you know, nominate them today! By recognizing and celebrating their achievements, REIC aims to advance professionalism in all sectors of the real estate industry.

Applying for one or more of the REIC’s awards demonstrates your exceptional performance in the real estate industry. The awards program is designed to:

  • Promote excellence in the real estate industry.
  • Recognize outstanding contributions in the real estate industry.
  • Increase public awareness of both the achievements of the recipients and the sector as a whole.

Along with the calculated award, the QuadReal Excellence Award, the awards to be handed out are as follows:

A. WEBER AWARD

This distinguished award is in honour of J. A. Weber, FRI, REIC’s first National President. The award pays tribute to the REIC Member who, at the Chapter level, has made a significant contribution to the advancement of the Institute. The nominee’s efforts should have directly influenced the growth and recognition of an REIC Chapter.

PATRICK J. HARVEY MEMORIAL AWARD

This award was founded in honour of Patrick J. Harvey, FRI, one of REIC’s founding Members. Patrick was instrumental in laying the groundwork for the Institute’s educational program. The award is bestowed upon the REIC Member, who through personal sacrifice and initiative, has contributed to the professional advancement of the Institute through the development of an REIC educational program.

MURRAY BOSLEY SALES AND LEASING MEMBER OF THE YEAR AWARD

This distinguished award is in honour of Murray Bosley, FRI, one of REIC’s founding Members. The award is presented to an REIC Member in good standing who holds a sales and leasing designation. The Member is considered to be one of the foremost supporters of the sector and their respective designation over the past year.

REAL ESTATE MANAGEMENT MEMBER OF THE YEAR AWARD

This award is presented to an REIC Member in good standing who holds a property management designation. This Member is considered to be one of the foremost supporters of the sector and their respective designation over the past year.

REIC FINANCE MEMBER OF THE YEAR AWARD

This award is presented to an REIC Member in good standing who holds a finance designation. This Member is considered to be one of the foremost supporters of the sector and their respective designation over the past year.

W.P.J. MCCARTHY PARTNER OF THE YEAR AWARD

This prestigious award is named after REIC Past-President (2009-2010) William McCarthy, FRI CPM CLO. The award is presented to a company or non-profit association that has demonstrated outstanding recognition and support of REIC through their support of the continued growth and awareness of the Institute; encouragement of their staff’s professional development with REIC courses/designations; hiring/consulting with REIC Members.

REIC COMMUNITY SERVICES AWARD

This award honours the Chapter and/or Member that has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to the local community, through volunteer services and charitable work, within the Chapter’s jurisdictional boundaries.

LITERARY AWARD

The Literary Award recognizes the best in real estate journalism and research as it pertains to Canada’s real estate sector.

YOUNG PROFESSIONAL OF THE YEAR AWARD

This award recognizes a young professional who has demonstrated dedication to their industry, professionalism, and business ethics. They have significantly contributed to their organization while displaying strong leadership, teamwork, and high standards of integrity while continually developing their knowledge and experience.

DON HILL CHAPTER INITIATIVE OF THE YEAR AWARD

Initiated by Donald V. Hill, FRI CPM® in 1973, this award recognizes a Chapter, which has created an innovative educational program, event or marketing campaign that resulted in an increased awareness of the Institute as well as one or more sectors of the real estate profession. REIC provides a $500 cash award to the selected winner.

CHAPTER OF THE YEAR AWARD

The Chapter of the Year Award is designed to honour the small and large Chapter that has, through an outstanding job in local activities, advanced goals and objectives of the Institute. Such activities include Chapter events, professional development seminars, community service, marketing, and membership retention programs.

REIC EMERITUS AWARD

REIC Emeritus is the highest honour that a Member of REIC can receive. This award of excellence recognizes a Member’s sustained commitment and outstanding contribution to REIC at both the National and Chapter levels.
