What is REIC?
REIC has been educating and designating specialists since 1955 and we maintain a diverse community of professionals from coast-to-coast. In partnership with the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) we offer courses and designations in many areas of the real estate industry.
Can I earn my license through REIC?
No, REIC does not offer any courses or programs that lead to licensing. However, we do provide many professional development opportunities for individuals who are working in the real estate industry.

What is a designation?
A designation is a title held by real estate professionals that have completed advanced education and experience requirements, and who have pledged to uphold high ethical standards and business practices.
To maintain REIC’s professional designations you must be an REIC Member.
Can I earn a designation if I do not live in Canada?
You must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or working in Canada to qualify for our designation programs.

How do I qualify for membership?
If you are a professional working in the real estate industry who wants to earn a professional designation, you can apply today for Candidate Membership.
Once you have fulfilled the education and experience requirements for your program, paid your annual dues, and completed an interview with a current member, you will become a fully designated REIC Member.
How can I apply for membership?
Visit our designations page, or speak to our Membership Services department, to find the program that best fits your career goals. Download and compete the application form, then submit the form to the Membership team.
Do you offer real estate industry courses?
Yes. We offer a wide selection of advanced real estate courses for individuals working in the industry. You can view our full course selection here.
Does REIC offer in-class programs?
Effective March 2020, REIC is not offering any in-class programs. All REIC courses are being transitioned to an alternate online delivery platform (real-time remote).
Can I take courses if I do not live in Canada?
Only our Online Study course format can be taken internationally. However, our courses and programs are designed for Canadian real estate professionals.
Can I take courses if I am not a member?
Yes. Students who are not REIC Members or Candidate Members can register for courses at the Non-Member rate.
Can I take courses if I do not work in real estate?
Our courses are designed for professionals who already work in real estate, or who have experience working in the industry.
How do I register for courses?
I was an REIC Member but I have retired, can I retain my membership?
Yes. Members can transfer to Retired status with no added fee. Retired status applies to individuals who are eligible to collect CPP. Please contact Membership Services to discuss your status.
My membership has lapsed, can I renew?
